St George Tabernacle

Among the most beautiful building in St. George—and an excellent example of fine old-world craftsmanship, from the hand-quarried red stone walls to the intricate interior woodwork. Its craftsmen finished pine, which was all they had, to look like exotic hardwoods and even marble. Completed in 1876 after 13 years of work, the Tabernacle served as a house of worship and town meeting hall. During the 1880s, when a nearby silver strike brought many Catholics to the area, the Tabernacle was used for a Roman Catholic High Mass led by a Roman Catholic priest, but with music from the liturgy sung by the local Mormon choir—in Latin. Today, the Tabernacle functions as a community center, presenting free weekly concerts and other cultural events. The guided tour takes about half an hour.

Address:
At Tabernacle St
18 S. Main St
St. George, Utah
Parking: Summer daily 9am-6pm; rest of year daily 9am-5pm
Price: ALL guided tours, concerts, and presentations are FREE.  See schedule of events in the front office of the Best Western Coral Hills.

SINBAD LIVE at Taucahn!

SINBAD

SINBAD Performs at Tuacahn!

SINBAD Performs at Tuacahn!

Actor and comedian Sinbad arrived on the comedy scene with a “hit ‘em in the face” style of comedy that has kept audiences laughing in the aisles for more than two decades. The basis of his humor comes from everyone he’s met, everything he’s seen, and everything he’s done. Ranked by Comedy Central as one of the top 100 standup comedians of all time, Sinbad has built a loyal following by taking audiences’ painful trials or embarassing tribulations of day-by-day life, throwing them back in their faces, and causing an uproar of comedic hysteria. He can also make it sound profound without being profane. Being the son of a preacher, he decided to keep his comedy clean after his father attended one of his early performances.

Don Mclean Performs at Tuacahn!

DON MCLEAN

Don Mclean to perform at Tuacahn

Don McLean’s superstar status is always attributed to his remarkable song, “American Pie” which, in 2000, once again topped the charts worldwide, this time recorded by Madonna. Back in 1972, “Vincent” (‘Starry Starry Night’) — taken from the American Pie album — gave Don McLean a second number one hit single and another landmark entry in the history of popular music. Some people are amazed when they read how successful “American Pie Man,” Don McLean, has been. Far from fading away (like some of his 1970s singer – songwriter contemporaries), Don has very much remained in the upper echelons of popular music. Friday, May 6, 2011  8:00 PM MST  $24.50-$34.50

Bar G Wranglers visit from Bryce Canyon

Bar G WranglersThe Bar G Wranglers live western singing group was formed in 1998 by Russ Eacker of Hurricane, Utah. He and his dad, Dean Eacker, sang together with the “Sons of the Golden West” and are former members of the “Bar J Wranglers” from Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Russ grew up watching his dad work with the likes of the “Spade Cooley Band,” “Tex Williams Western Caravan” and once singing with Roy Rogers and Tex Williams at a large rodeo in the Los Angeles Coliseum. He decided keeping western music alive and well, was a mission that he wanted to be a part of.

Typically to enjoy the Bar G Wranglers you would have to visit them at the Ebenezer’s Barn & Grill at Bryce Canyon where they perform nightly.  However on April 11th they will be giving a FREE public performance at 7:30pm at the Vernon Worthen Park at 300 S 400 E.  The park is only 3 blocks away from the Best Western Coral Hills.

The Best Western Coral Hills is a proud sponsor of the 2011 St. George Concert in the Park Series.  All concerts are open to the public and free of charge.  Hosted every second Monday from April through September and start at 7:30pm

LONESTAR to perform at Tuacahn, Click to order Tickets

Saturday, April 30, 2011
8:00 PM MST

Michael Britt, Cody Collins,  Keech Rainwater, Dean Sams

Chalk it up to their Texas-meets-Tennessee grit and tenacity, but there’s nothing Lonestar loves more than a challenge: 500 concerts in their first two years, crossing over from country to pop and back again after no one else had topped both charts at the same time since 1983, selling 10 million albums, landing ten Top 10 country hits and collecting nine Top 10 pop hits, packing audiences with guys who love their rocking shows and ladies who swoon over the romantic hunks. That’s just the kind of hard work that fuels the band.

Lonestar has sold more than 10 million albums and landed ten number one country hits as well as nine Top 40 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. Their numerous hits include “I’m Already There,” “Come Cryin’ To Me” and their smash, “Amazed,” which spent eight weeks at the number one spot on the country charts as well as reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100. This dual win made them the first country act since Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton’s “Islands In the Stream” in 1983 to accomplish this career milestone. But the band makes it clear that they are still growing. “After everything we’ve been through, we’re still trying new things,” says Michael Britt. “We’re still growing as artists, and we’re able to be creative in addition to having the wealth of success and experience that we’ve achieved – that’s what sets us apart.”
